Maddy Butcher is the owner, publisher, and founder of NickerNews, BestHorsePractices, and Cayuse Crest Communications. For nearly two decades, she worked as a free-lance reporter for The Boston Globe, The Wall Street Journal, and scores of other publications before turning her attention almost exclusively to horse topics.
She is the author of A Rider's Reader: Exploring Horse Sense, Science and Sentiment.
The Mainer now works and rides in southwestern Colorado.

As a regular guest columnist, Amy Skinner has contributed dozens of Journals and Journeys pieces for NickerNews.
Skinner has been a horse gal since age six. She runs Essence Horsemanship, rides and teaches a variety of disciplines and welcomes riders of all levels. Skinner has studied at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Spain, with Buck Brannaman, Leslie Desmond, Brent Graef, and many other others.
She currently resides in northern Michigan.
Check out her columns here.

Raechel Nelson is featured in our Mustang Miles & Minutes segments on BestHorsePractices. The regular features document the progress Nelson is making with her adopted BLM mare and foal pair, Zita and Alita. She grew up on a Colorado ranch and has started several domestic horses.
By day, she is Dr. Raechel Nelson, owner of Desert Rose Dental in Salt Lake County, Utah. Check out Mustang Miles & Minutes.

Emily Thomas Luciano is the brains behind the marketing of NickerNews and BestHorsePractices. Luciano, daughter of horseman Jim Thomas, has started several wild horses and competed in the Extreme Mustang Makeover many times.
The North Carolina gal currently lives in Florida.

More about NickerNews

When NickerNews first started, it was a hobby site. I simply wanted to write about horses, their people, and our crazy horse world. I wanted to feature horse folks, their stories, and opinions.

A few years later, the feet are a bit more grounded. NickerNews has a fine and friendly place in the horse community and a great family of advertisers. Thanks for visiting!

Nice job of capturing NN in a nutshell. NickerNews is what you say and a whole lot more! There is something there for every horseperson.
