Tony Lepore of Auburn spoke with NickerNews.

He told me of poor herd management, tight finances, and dead horses at the farm. Tony used to run this property as PDQ Farm with Ivy Rasco.

Lepore ran the facility with Rasco from 1990 to 2004. During that time, the farm hosted lessons, summer camps, and breeding programs.

Ivy Rasco continues to own the property but lives in Smithfield. She has been the Riding Director for the summer camp, Camp Matoaka in Smithfield.

Rasco’s Clinton property is for sale.

Lepore told me as many as 30 horses have died at this farm recently.
Lepore told me dead horses are being hauled away and composted. Compromised horses are hauled away as well.
He told me many, many horses fall into poor health because they are bullied from food and injured by other horses in the same paddock.

Lepore told me Worley has given an order to her Animal Welfare agents to NOT seize any large animals from this farm or any other farm.

WHAT....Norma has given an order NOT to seize.. ?? SHE NEEDS TO BE fired now.. just a badly as the horses need to be seized NOW........ What the hell can be done..??? What can we all as a horse community do right this minute.. The hell with what NORMA orders.. She is no better then the people at the Clinton Farm in my opinion...

I agree. She should be fired immediately. Doesn't anyone else see anything wrong with this "blanket statement"? Come on, people - these horses need help and if the people in positions of authority won't act, we need to hold them accountable too!! Don't look the other way. Don't do the easy thing and go on about your lives like nothing is happening. Please be willing to be vocal for the animals who can't beg for help! Demand action!!!

okay if the tv station cant do a story about this farm yet do to lawyers being contacted can they do a story on the state of maine horse protection laws and why they are NOT being carried out and inforced !!! the laws are there to protect the animals NOT the dang people,, why bother to have lawys if they are nto gogint o be inforced !!! !

Animal Welfare is not doing its job as horsepeople know it should be done - there is consensus in that. Changes must be made so that our animal welfare laws are enforced. Please write or call your State Representatives and Senators to insist that this case not be swept under the rug and the suffering of horses allowed to continue. They need to put pressure on the Agriculture Committee to act upon neglect cases.

I know the people in question are monitoring these posts ( CLINTON FARM).. If they are truly a rescue as they claim, then why are they not using this in their favor to get much needed help.. It would be so easy to just to let the news in and tell their side of the story and show what is truly there in need of help.. Every person posting in reference to this situation would in turn show up on your door step and offer any help they could and your name would stop being run threw the mud. SO Clinton farm GO PUBLIC.. Let the news in and the people in. stop hiding and let us ALL in to help.. I for one would be the first on your doorstep to help, If this is truly a rescue in need.. Make me believe you and I will help you... Have this on the news tonight and I can guaranty if what you claim is true then you will have more help then you could even need by tomorrow morning.. Other wise we have no choice but to believe you are hiding a horrific situation and truly do not want the help as you would have too many hands in the truth about what you are really doing over there...

Norma needs to be fired as she is not doing her job. Who is her supervisor? If thirty horses have died, how come it has taken this long for anything to be done? Do you have pictures to back you up? Animals depend on us, or is this a Maine thing its just an animal. These people have starved horses that relied on them. Its time to call the state house and governor's office. What kind of people do we put in these positions? I know where citizens in other states have gone in and taken animals that were being starved. Why are we sitting back in Maine? My question is that Norma Warley is collecting a pay check and all the benifits from the State of Maine and is not doing her job? As a tax payer of the State of Maine I want her job fire the women now. Money is tight and her pay check would by hay and grain. The Ingrahams' should go to jail for this. What is the town of Clinton going to do about their ACO?

Just a question -- how does Tony know about the what's happening at this place if he lives in Auburn?
2/16/2010
While this situation is horrible and steps need to be taken. Mr. Lepore's comments are not, in my opinion, relevant. The farm was questioned on horses conditions and care over many years while Mr. Lepore was involved with it. I would not consider his opinion a valid one.
2/17/2010
Terry , i dont know where your getting your info but the topny write up IS about this farm and its curent managers/ leassee's .. and she has on a cople pages for just this store has links to everythign pretaining to THIS case ..
2/17/2010 Elaine
If Mr. Lepore's comments are not relevant to this case what do we have his comments on this article

I was under the impression that there were 30 dead horses on this place and now I'm finding out there are not and the 30 dead horses were in times past. Where was the outcry then and why is it now when it doesn't relate to these people? I'm very disturbed over this and people are investigating these people for no reason.

Tony is not a very reliable source! I knew of him to be looked down upon by the horse community as well
2/24/2010 Deana
Mr LePore is well known in the horse community and IS well respected, he has been there and knows what he is talking about. These people hoard horses just to try to make a buck, watch the video of her kicking the horse on the news, not to mention if she was running a real rescue she would stand no stallions and would not be breeding. This couple is CRAZY, they should not have horses or children. When they decide they don't want the kid anymore is she going to bring it to her grandfathers farm and throw that in a hole too??
2/24/2010 Everet
Let's stick to the subject which is horses in need. Its sickening when people say and print things like "they aren't good parents and when they are through with their kids they can throw them in their grandparents hole!!!!!" Maybe someone should put you out of your misery and put you in a very large dark shit hole?

I cannot believe this. When I went to horse camp there in the summer of 2006, it was an amazing place. Horses were very well takenh care of, great facilities, and everyone there was happy. I'm not sure what is happening now, but do NOT bash Ivy Rasco. She cared for those horses like no other. Some of the best jumpers and dressage horses were in their 20's, and very healthy. For that to happen, they must be well taken care of. This is apalling for people to bash about situation that don't even have confirmed authenticity.
