Try this nifty recipe for BAKER’S BISCUITS, baked horse treats!

4 cups of grated carrots

4 cups grated apples

8 tablespoons of corn oil

1 cup molasses

4 teaspoons salt

4 cups oats (rolled, old-fashion, or quick)

4 cups flour

Mix together into a pasty dough, cut into burger-sized shapes or whatever sizes and shapes you'd like.

Place on greased pan and cook at 350 degrees for approximately 30-35 minutes. Flip them at least once during the cooking time.

Special thanks to Sarah Bronson, executive director of Riding To The Top for providing this recipe in honor of the late Mr. Baker, longtime therapy horse at RTT.

"In the language of the range, to say that somebody is "as smart as a cutting horse" is to say that he is smarter than a Philadelphia lawyer, smarter than a steel trap, smarter than a coyote, smarter than a Harvard graduate - all combined. There just can't be anything smarter than a smart cutting horse. He can do everything but talk Meskin - and he understands that." - Joe M. Evans, A Corral Full of Stories
